In this podcast I will talk about Hong Kong and its future. A lot has happened in the past year here and people ask me what to expect.

I recorded this on Wednesday 17 June 2020 and another weekend passed without protests in Hong Kong. A lot has happened in HK in the last decades especially in the last year (2019/2020) with protests.

Then Covid-19 happened at the end of January 2020 and all people in HK were immediately in “virus mode”. Then in May 2020 the standing committee of the national people’s congress passed the new national security law for Hong Kong.

People are worried about what is going to happen and that atmosphere is noticeable here so I discussed this with three people separately who were born and raised here. How do they see the future in Hong Kong and will that influence their decision to stay?

I will talk to Andrew Tsang, a newly qualified lawyer who is currently looking for a new job opportunity, Jackson Lam, a serial entrepreneur with a daughter and Suki Ng, currently studying in London as a corporate governance student.

I am very grateful for all guests that they were willing to share their views with me.
